As an Engineering Manager you will oversee the entire software development lifecycle, with a heavy focus on delivery. You will be responsible for managing multiple teams within one of our industry streams (OEM, Leasing & Mobility, Retail), fostering a culture of collaboration, and continuous delivery. You will manage the team by defining scope and timelines, together with instilling a sense of urgency to ensure we are delivering the best value for our customers.


The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and mentoring a team of frontend and backend engineers as well as collaborating with QA, Product Design, and the Platform engineering team to continuously deliver value to customers. Engineering managers work closely with Principal and Staff engineers to understand architecture standards, establish engineering best practices, and lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery and alignment with business objectives.


Main duties will include:

  • Lead, mentor and coach software engineers within your stream to deliver high quality software solutions.
  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams, including our Customer Success team, Account Managers, UI/UX design, and Platform to define requirements, prioritise features, and align on project goals.
  • A passion for continuous integration and delivery whilst ensuring scalability, observability, reliability, and performance.
  • Establish and enforce engineering best practices, coding standards, and processes to maintain high levels of quality and productivity and ensure they align with drivvn principles in collaboration with our Principal and Staff engineers.
  • Manage people allocation and project timelines to ensure successful delivery and alignment with business objectives.

Job requirements

About you


  • Proven experience (5+ years) in software development, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong technical proficiency in a language used at drivvn with experience in automated testing and CI/CD within container-based environments.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Passion for mentoring and developing team members, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
  • Delivery biased with the ability to instil urgency and focus to keep work flowing through the teams.
